Living in Love

"And all the trees of the field shall know that I, the LORD, bring low the high tree, lift high the lowly tree, wither up the green tree, and make the withered tree bloom." -Ezekiel 17:24. Being alive involves constant change. Living in the world is not a static thing, and living in communion and relationship with others is meant to be dynamically done in love.

Transformations and the Eucharist

10:30 AM Mass

"While they were eating, he took bread, said the blessing, broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is my body.” -Mark 14:22. Why do we come to Mass? Does anything exciting ever happen? Fr. David describes the transformations which are at the heart of every Mass.

Leaving Impressions

"For he spoke, and it was made; he commanded, and it stood forth." -Psalms 33:9. In all that we create, say, and do, we leave an impression of ourselves. Fr. David explores God's intentional creative action and its implications.

Holy Spirit

10:30 AM Mass

"And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them." -Acts 2:2-3. Wind. Fire. Breath. It is difficult to get a grasp on the Holy Spirit, yet when we allow the Spirit to have an effect on us, the outcome can be much greater than anything we could imagine.

Not Really Leaving

10:30 AM Mass

"This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven." -Acts 1:11b. Fr. David shows us that although Jesus was ascending and would no longer be visible to the Apostles, he was not leaving them, not really. He prepared them, as we should prepare ourselves, for the coming of the Holy Spirit in their lives.
